I might not help you find the answers you want, but I will help you find answers that create new opportunities for growth and clarity.
She/Her/Hers
As a natural empath, I have the ability to feel deeply and listen intently to the life narrative of others. My passion in life is to help people understand their own thoughts, feelings, and patterns and to help them heal through that work.

I work with people who are high achieving and/or have challenges with perfectionism. People who have come to an impasse or a place of stuckness where the old patterns of behavior are no longer serving them. Many people are dissatisfied with living a life that lacks alignment and authenticity, trying to fit the mold of outside expectations. I help people reach a space of clarity and understanding through exploring patterns of thinking, dismantling faulty belief systems, and bringing awareness to hidden emotions.
I help people who are dealing with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, life transitions, stress, grief and loss, and relationship challenges. My theoretical scope includes but is not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, mindfulness, solution- focused therapy, and strength-based approaches.
I work with clients of all faith backgrounds. As a practicing Christian with 15 years of experience in ministry, I am skilled in using Christian beliefs and spiritual practices in the therapy space as a part of the healing process, if requested.
He/His/Him
When we ignore or deny the things that upset us most—negative feelings, unhelpful thoughts, harmful behaviors—the more power and control we give those things.
Read More...Read Less... I help clients who feel angry, frustrated, afraid, or hopeless about their present circumstances or chronic stressors. I take great care in providing space for those who are willing to explore and process what keeps them up at night or weighs them down day by day. You do not have to know exactly what is wrong to find healing in therapy. Together we can achieve greater understanding of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. As a queer, multiracial counselor, I practice therapy from a culturally sensitive, identity-affirmative lens to create and foster a safe therapeutic environment wherein clients can act, feel, and be their authentic selves. I enjoy helping individuals who are a part of marginalized communities and those who have intersecting identities including but not limited to queer and transgender individuals and mixed race persons. I strive to create and foster a collaborative counseling relationship built on trust, openness, and authenticity. Depending on your needs, our work together may focus on personal growth, self-exploration, goal-setting, and strengthening resilience. I provide individual psychotherapy for adults struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, relationships, self-esteem, and suicidal ideation. I prioritize the importance of taking care of one’s body, mind, and spirit by striving for balance among all areas of wellness (social, physical, occupational), as well as by building resilience and practicing mindfulness to feel more connected with the here and now.

Hi, there. I’m Grace. If you’re reading this, you may be considering the vulnerable, messy, beautiful, healing work of therapy.
Read More...Read Less... I am not here to give you answers, but rather to journey with you in an endeavor toward a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences, challenges, goals, and strengths. I will bring warmth, empathy, non judgment, curiosity, and sometimes humor to our shared space, and will treat you as the expert of your own experience. There may be tears in one moment and laughter the next. However you show up, I am here as a collaborator in this work. Together, we can imagine (and practice) what fulfillment looks like in your life through harmony with different parts of yourself, others, and your communities. I take an eclectic relational and person-centered approach because needs are unique from one person to the next, so we will explore together what works for you. My work primarily draws from psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and may include elements of narrative and relational-cultural therapies, somatic and nervous system-focused exercises, and your own emotional, physical, intellectual, or spiritual practices. As a white, queer, Jewish, gender-expansive person, I am deeply committed to approaching this work with an anti-oppressive lens and take pleasure in exploring practices that are culturally resonant, identity-affirming, and personally meaningful to you. I work to foster a therapeutic relationship that creates space for you to safely show up fully and authentically. With that said, as humans there are pieces of us that expand beyond the context of the therapy room. Prior to obtaining my MSW from UNC-CH, I worked in nonprofits focused on arts education, housing, racial equity, and supporting sex workers. Outside of work I may be found reading speculative fiction, camping in the mountains, dancing to live music, thrifting, binge- watching comedies, crafting with loved ones, or doting on my pets.
high-achieving and grappling with a harsh inner critic or finding it hard to keep up with their previous routine, finding that how they’ve been coping isn’t working anymore, feeling out of sync with their values or how they want to live their lives, wanting to know themselves better in their next stage of life, feeling overwhelmed by their emotions, feeling unheard or seeking deeper connection in their relationships. I help clients work through relationship concerns, life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress management, identity exploration, family of origin issues, grief and loss, and with LGBTQIA+ clients wanting to process the varied challenges and pleasures of life.

lens. I will work with you to reconnect to your personal and relational strengths to address the concerns you bring with you to therapy. My therapeutic practice centers around relational conflict and infidelity, intimacy, sexual concerns, childhood behavioral concerns, family dynamics, grief, trauma, and the stuck-ness and uncertainty that can come with navigating stressful life changes. I am also passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ youth, teens, and
their families.
I work from a holistic perspective, seeing you within the context of yourself, your family, and societal systems. I pull from different therapy modalities based on your specific needs or interests and work collaboratively with you to find what feels authentic and helpful. The therapy modalities that I typically pull from are Emotionally Focused Therapy (specifically for romantic partnerships), narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, structural therapy with younger families, and mindfulness practices.
I am a white, queer, nerdy, and sex-positive individual. Recognizing how my identities shape the way that I can move through the world and the privileges that I experience, I am dedicated to utilizing an anti-oppressive and identity-affirming approach throughout our work together. I strive to create a space where you can be your entire authentic self and where we can address how systems of power influence how you and your loved ones move through the world.
I will bring empathy, humor, and openness to the therapy room. I will warmly challenge you to move towards growth and help create boundaries to feel safe within as you grow.
She/Her/Hers
I’m Alissa, a clinical student intern working towards my Masters in Social Work at UNC-Chapel Hill. I believe deeply in the power of therapy – particularly in a culture that can feel fast-paced, overwhelming and isolating.
Read More...Read Less... I am passionate about working with people who are seeking to improve their relationship with themselves, partners, family, friends, community and world. I take an eclectic and collaborative approach and pull from Structural Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Strengths-based and psychodynamic approaches. These approaches can help us to better understand and explore the reasons behind emotions, thoughts and actions, develop a more positive perception of self, and identify meaningful goals that can increase feelings of joy, confidence and purpose. We can talk more about these approaches, what they are and which feel most aligned with what you are seeking. I work with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, challenges with self-confidence, and doubt. I use an anti-oppressive, anti-racist lens to help clients who are seeking more purpose, joy and community despite existing within systems that are not supportive of those goals. I am passionate about helping clients who may feel lonely, disconnected, misunderstood, and hopeless but also have a sense of yearning for something more. In addition to working with individuals, I also work with families – parents struggling with balancing competing responsibilities of work and family while maintaining personal well-being, or navigating the challenges of parenting children or teens with high emotional needs. I work with adolescents, young adults, couples and families facing challenges related to substance use, as well as couples who desire to improve their relationship. As an intern, I see self-pay clients at a significantly lower rate, and am under the clinical supervision of Donna Bell, MSW, LCSW. Outside of work and school, I love theater, live music, cooking, being outside in all seasons except winter, reading, shamelessly binging reality tv and dramas, and playing with my two rescue dogs. I hope to connect with you soon!
